Hello birder,
Nice that you have come to my website, I hope you enjoy it and take your time to look at and read through everything.
How did it get to this point?
While studying Biology, I did research on Oystercatchers on Schiermonnikoog and House Sparrows in Andechs (Germany). After my studies, I gave a number of bird excursions for the visitors’ centre on Schiermonnikoog. As a result, I discovered that I enjoy teaching people about nature. Partly because of these bird excursions, I decided to go into education, as a Biology teacher.
Lots of experience in organising birding excursions
After 20 years in education and as a member of the bird working group of the IVN Groningen/Haren, I rediscovered the pleasure I have in giving bird excursions. Therefore, after several months of preparation, I started my own company Birds4You.nl in January 2016 to provide birding excursions.
Bird watching across the Netherlands
During the week, I regularly go birdwatching in the areas of Groningen, Drenthe and Friesland. During all these trips, I have discovered that the Netherlands is a beautiful country for birdwatching. New areas are still being added. These often have a double function as water storage and new nature. Many birds benefit from this. Therefore, I can also offer birding excursions in areas that may be more unknown to many nature lovers.
Like me, my friend is also an avid birder and photographer, and has been doing this since he was 12 years old. On the weekends we are together, we go out a lot for birdwatching. For this, we sometimes travel all over the Netherlands to see a special bird. We then try to take pictures of this bird, and sometimes we even manage a movie.
